SETO KAIBA

The highly successful CEO of a massive gaming company. He attained the controlling interest of Kaiba Corporation from his adoptive father Gozaburo through extortive means, but it was through his own rigorous hard work that he converted the company from a weapons manufacturer and distributor into the success it is now.

Kaiba is an avid gamer, and he hates to lose. And don't think card games are his only games, he's adept at all types, much like his rival Yugi Mutou. Although he's never been able to win an honest duel against Yugi, Kaiba seems to have come to some level of acceptance with this fact, and no longer sees loss as a reason to die over, something that Gozaburo burned into his mind for years.

Cold and calculating, Kaiba only seems to share a strong connection with his younger brother, and holds all others at arm's length. Despite his poor opinion on teamwork and his lack of deep personal connections, he is able to collaborate with others when he needs to, and he does respect individuals who prove themselves to him, such as Yugi or Pharaoh Atem, both of who he considers worthy rivals.

CANON APPEARANCE INFO - Kaiba cuts an imposing figure at 6'1" with his sharp blue eyes. He's clearly built in the upper body, but has fairly slender legs. All the better to GESTICULATE WILDLY as he's prone to do when he's riled up. Big anime villain energy, even though he's not really a villain anymore.

HECKIN APPEARANCE INFO - Kaiba is now a little closer to 6'5" as he is now a Hell-Raised with visibly draconic features. His direct inspiration for the design is the Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon, and it shows. While his general shape is still human, his head structure is now that of a dragon. The hair stayed the same, at least. From head to toe, Kaiba's body is now visibly more slender, but he still retains his general upper-body musculature, including the thicker arms and broader chest. Unclothed, said body is visibly segmented in places with the most severe plating and segmentation at his thin legs and long, tapering tail.

His wings are flight-capable. All along his body are glowing cyan highlights, but they're most prevalent on the protrusions at the side of his face, his wings, the gaps between his tail segments, and his tail tip. The more excited he becomes, the more he glows. What truly adds to Kaiba's height are his now clawed, digitigrade feet. Due to the elongated ankles, Kaiba has to wear shoes with longer heels to offset his stance, but the outfit he wears remains the usual: skintight long-sleeved shirt with equally skintight pants, a belt with the KC logo on it, and boots which seem to seamlessly integrate with his pants. He also wears a white studded trenchcoat, as well as two belts each on his upper arms and lower legs and a bracer on each forearm.

INTELLIGENCE AND INGENUITY

As part of his upbringing, Kaiba was forced to undergo rigorous homeschooling in various advanced subjects including foreign languages, economics, social studies, game strategy, etc. His learning regimen was overseen by his stepfather, who used corporal punishment in order to push him past his limits. As a result, he's incredibly intelligent, and even designed a virtual reality simulation system as a child (which was sold as military training software against his wishes). Kaiba's technological advancements in the gaming field are at the bleeding edge of technology, and he's responsible for the creation of the Solid Vision and Power Vision systems used by his proprietary hardware, the Duel Disk. This is what makes monsters "come to life" in Duel Monsters and seem all the more real. They're solid holograms.

MASTER GAMER/STRATEGIST

Kaiba is a master of games, with his specialty being in card games like Duel Monsters. However with his creative mind, he's capable at all manner of games, including arcade and board games. His ethos with games tends to bleed over into how he lives his life, which is that losing is tantamount to death. He's a cutthroat player and prior to the Mind Crush performed by Dark Yugi which obliterated the evil from within at the cost of shattering his heart, he'd guiltlessly create death games and subject his enemies to them. However, once he went through a six month coma of putting himself back together, he's become less likely to go to such extremes (not counting his stunt on Pegasus' Castle), and he respects the sanctity of Duel Monsters. This is very important as it improves his general strategy for the game since he respects his cards, and they respect him in turn. Yeah, Yu-Gi-Oh is like this. Kaiba's ability to strategize is not just for games though -- he's able to think quick on his feet and disable enemies creatively (using a card to jam a gun, then incapacitating the guy firing it by disarming him and snapping his finger) and concoct methods to try and keep himself safe from even the supernatural (he made the Duel Disk system in order to put distance between himself and Pegasus in an attempt to avoid his Mind Scan ability).

As a perk of being an ALPHA GAMER, Kaiba is also stupid good at sorting out rigged games by analyzing the rules. For example, he's able to work out Blackjack probabilities at a table. Yeah, that's right. He can count cards in his head. Prove it.

LUCKY

Yes, seriously! Many characters in Yu-Gi-Oh have an incredible run of luck if they believe in themselves. Some would consider this the power of unity, but Kaiba is so anti-unity that he MAKES HIS OWN LUCK THANKS! Through sheer force of will, he seems able to luck out on simple games, or drawing what he needs for card games. It's not much of an ability, but it felt worth mentioning.

[HECKIN GAME] FLIGHT

Kaiba was granted wings due to his Hell-Raised form, and can use them to fly short distances in quick bursts. The more experienced he becomes with them, the greater his stamina.

[HECKIN GAME] BURST STREAM OF DESTRUCTION

Local dragon demon confirmed to breathe SOMETHING! Rather than fire, Kaiba can shoot concentrated plasma blasts from his mouth. Unlike the Blue-Eyes White Dragon-style incineration of enemies, Kaiba's blasts are mostly concussive, with a mild electrical current. It will most definitely hurt, but it'd take more than one to cause lasting damage. He has a shot limit of 3 per 8 hours, but can push himself further if he's angered. If he exceeds his shot limit, he will suffer severe adverse effects, however temporary (throat injury, loss of voice, you get the idea).

[HECKIN GAME] GAMER COMPULSION

Subtle, but effective. Anyone in short range of Seto Kaiba when he's keyed up to play a game with stakes will be bound to the rules of that game as he posits them. Since it is a compulsive action, it can be fought, no one has to play along, but he does have a pretty overbearing personality, fellas.

[HECKIN GAME] CONTRACTS/DEALS

Just like any other Hell-raised, Kaiba can make a contract with others in order to grant favors. In return, he'll claim a price which could be as simple as a trade of equal value in his eyes, or, you know. A soul. His contracts will tend toward the practical, rather than the magical, because MAGIC IS BULLSHIT. Isn't he putting up with enough of that by being stuck here?!
