Assigned Nickname: The Loser

Canon: Yu-Gi-Oh (Manga)
Canon point: Duelist Kingdom, after his duel with Pegasus and getting sealed in a Soul Prison card.

Personality: Seto Kaiba certainly is a personality and a half, and that's the nicest way anyone could put it.
One of, if not his most defining feature is his ego. The guy's arrogant as hell, and with reason! He's a prodigy and he knows it, and he used those smarts to get himself and his brother adopted before eventually ousting his adoptive father out of owning his own company. He's also wicked good at games, and has built a reputation around it. Although he wasn't quite so prideful as a child (still rough around the edges), it can be intuited that Kaiba's arrogant nature was groomed into him by Gozaburo--he was adopting an heir, not a son, and so he raised Seto with the mentality of being a winner or else. The more he succeeded, the more reason he had to be prideful, and the colder his heart grew.
(Later on in his development, he does ease up and allow concessions for others besides his brother when it comes to maintaining his arrogance and the loner nature it cultivates due to his "I'm better than you attitude." The arc after his canon point, Battle City, sees him helping Yugi and his friends often, to the point of saving Anzu and Jounouchi from harm, tracking the others down in the first place once they're kidnapped, engaging in TEAMWORK!?! EW. And also, expressing faith in his rival, to the point that he gives that man a trading card, for free?? Bitches love trading cards.)
Unfortunately, his ego does get him in trouble. Being such an arrogant bastard means he takes personal affronts very seriously, and that a lot of things are taken as personal affronts. That's his pride getting in the way of being a normal human being. When he loses a game to Yugi, he immediately hyperfixates on avenging his loss because losing is unacceptable, and goes so far as to create a death theme park complete with serial killer and hired guns. More on why loss is unacceptable later, in the interest of taking this whole thing in a more linear format.
As a child, Kaiba felt very responsible for his little brother and cared for him basically as a parent, hence his ploy to get Gozaburo Kaiba to adopt them both by challenging him to a chess match and cheating. He was also a much kinder soul, if not rough around the edges, and had aspirations to create an amusement park that would allow orphans in for free.
Regrettably, a lot of this was lost during the next 5 or so years due to the abuse Gozaburo put him through in service of creating a suitable heir. Between the ages of 10 and 15, he was forced into an accelerated study regimen that taught him multiple languages, economics, social studies, strategy, the works. But you know, maybe don't collar your kid. Maybe don't basically torture your kid. During this time, any remaining innocence was shed and left Seto Kaiba as a ruthless, cold, and calculating businessman who wrested control of his adoptive father's company from him. Said father then proceeded to drill into Kaiba's mind that losing means death, by jumping from the top floor of the building.
Remember that losing is unacceptable thing? This is why: Kaiba was raised on the belief that no one would take care of him, and that loss was a shame so great that it was tantamount to death. His first penalty game only reinforced that, as Atem subjected him to the experience of death (being trapped in an illusion of being torn apart by monsters), which hey, gave him a side PTSD to go with his other PTSD by the way? He had nightmares about that, and levied a response that was NOT commensurate (Death-T) in order to regain his title. Because of what Gozaburo had done, he was made into a monster, one that didn't even acknowledge the brother he did it all for, and instead went out of his way to torment.
As expected, he lost against Yugi--or rather, Atem--once more. And upon losing Atem shattered his heart and left him in a six month coma to put himself back together. When he finally wakes back up...well. Kaiba hasn't completed that puzzle. This is important to know as it defines his personality.
At this moment, Kaiba is still arrogant, ruthless, and prone to vengeful behavior and bad decisions to achieve his goals. The difference is...he remembers now, who it was for. Everything he did, all of the parts of himself that he gave up? He did it for his brother, and so he has a unilateral drive to rescue Mokuba, who was kidnapped. That's his obsession. That's his "love." He's also saving his company but that's not the only thing driving him anymore.
It should be noted, by the by, that the aforementioned PTSD is related to the abuse he underwent while being groomed into an heir, and having his adoptive father hyperfixating on making him the best in order to inherit Kaiba Corporation. The cold, ruthless arrogance was taught behavior, but also the result of Seto taking the brunt of attention onto himself, which helped to ensure that his brother (if no longer himself) would live a good life. He treated Mokuba poorly afterwards because of how he was taught to handle weakness and loss, but it probably wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to assume there had been some resentment deep down. Not how he feels now, of course. His feelings are best summarized as "Seto Kaiba hurt himself in his own confusion."
Roommates?: 1 roommate please! Kaiba might want to kill everyone and then himself if he was stuck with more than one person, which is already too many.
